Omschrijving
Oorspronkelijk zelfstandig 17e eeuws huis van het split-level type, bestaande uit twee bouwlagen met een kap evenwijdig aan de straat en een kelder onder het voorhuis.
Het 17e eeuwse huis maakte deel uit van een rij van vier, samen met Nieuwe Kamp 14, 18 en 20, van vergelijkbare opzet, met voorhuis en achterbouw met daarin souterrain en opkamer.
In de 19e eeuw zijn de nummers 14 en 16 achter een lijstgevel samengetrokken tot een symmetrisch dubbelpand. Het aanzien van deze gevels wordt verhoogd door een middenrisaliet met gebeeldhouwde consoles. De schoorstenen aan beide zijgevels duiden nog op de 17e eeuwse situatie.
Het pand is van architectonisch belang en tevens van belang in de reeks met de overige drie panden.

Description
Originally an independent 17th century house of the split-level type, consisting of two storeys with a roof parallel to the street and a cellar beneath the front section.
The 17th century house was part of a row of four, together with Nieuwe Kamp 14, 18 and 20, of comparable layout, with front section and rear building containing basement and upper room.
In the 19th century numbers 14 and 16 were combined behind a cornice-topped facade into a symmetrical double house. The appearance of these facades is enhanced by a central projection with carved consoles. The chimneys on both side facades still indicate the 17th century situation.
The building is of architectural importance and is also important as part of the series with the other three buildings.
