Hoek pand onder mansardekap aan slop gelegen, 1844, vrijwoning deel uitmakend van het hofje van de Fundatie Metelerkamp.
De ongepleisterde lijstgevel is drie traveeën -tussen pilasters met blokverdeling- breed met in het midden de ingang; de oorspronkelijke schuifvensters hebben een roede verdeling. De rechter zijgevel is blind en heeft soortgelijke pilasters als de voorgevel en vormt, met de zijgevel van Achterom 2, de kop van het hofje. Op de begane grond bevindt zich rechts en links een kamer, gescheiden door het portaal en de steektrap naar de zolder. Onder de trap is uitkomend in de rechter kamer de bedstee waaronder een klein bedstee-keldertje met een plavuizen vloertje, luchtend via een schuifluikje in de tweede trede van de trap naar de zolder. Het is bereikbaar via een apart trapje dat begint achter de deur die zich rechts naast de bedstee bevindt. Rechts daarvan ligt de plee. De opbouw van deze wand is gebaseerd op twee dubbele deuren. De kamers hebben beide een schouw. De enkelvoudige balklaag ligt loodrecht op de rooilijn. De zolder heeft in een kastenwand links een tweede bedstee. De mansardekap loopt, doorgaand over Nieuwe Kamp 2 t/m 12 (even), evenwijdig aan het slop, maar is rechts als hoekoplossing omgezet in een haaks hierop staande kap die op dezelfde wijze doorloopt over Achterom 2. Het schoorsteenkanaal van de rechter schouw wordt langs het dakvlak geleid naar de rechter schoorsteen die op het snijpunt van beide daken staat. De beschoten gordingenkap rust op merkwaardige spanten; van het onderste juk rust ieder spantbeen op het blokkeel dat verbonden is met een extra schoor die vanaf de vloer tot de halve hoogte van het spantbeen loopt; daarboven verbindt het korbeel het spantbeen en de jukbalk. Op het onderste juk staat een V-juk. Het pand maakt deel uit van het hofje van de Fundatie Metelerkamp bestaande uit Nieuwe Kamp 2 t/m 12 (even) aan een slop, en Achterom 2 en 4, ruggelings hiertegenaan. De Fundatie is gesticht op 2 mei 1844 en beheert het enige Utrechtse hofje waarvan de vrijwoningen nog als zodanig functioneren. (Zij het dat de bewoners voor een deel bijdragen in de onderhoudskosten). De interieurs zijn vrij gaaf bewaard.
Het pand is zowel uit- als inwendig van bouwhistorisch belang, tevens is de vrijwoning als deel van het complex van historisch en stedebouwkundig belang.

Corner property under mansard roof situated on a lane, 1844, detached dwelling forming part of the courtyard of the Fundatie Metelerkamp.
The unplastered cornice-topped facade is three bays wide—between pilasters with block division—with the entrance in the middle; the original sash windows have glazing bars. The right side gable is blank and has similar pilasters to the front facade and forms, with the side gable of Achterom 2, the corner of the courtyard. On the ground floor there is a room on the right and left, separated by the hallway and a steep staircase to the attic. Under the staircase, opening into the right room, is the alcove bed with underneath a small alcove-bed cellar with a tiled floor, ventilated via a sliding shutter in the second step of the staircase to the attic. It is accessible via a separate small staircase that begins behind the door situated immediately to the right of the alcove bed. To the right of that is the privy. The construction of this wall is based on two double doors. Both rooms have a chimney breast. The simple beam layer lies perpendicular to the building line. The attic has in a cupboard wall on the left a second alcove bed. The mansard roof runs, continuing over Nieuwe Kamp 2 through 12 (even), parallel to the lane, but on the right as a corner solution is turned into a roof perpendicular to it which continues in the same way over Achterom 2. The chimney flue of the right chimney breast is led along the roof slope to the right chimney stack which stands at the intersection of both roofs. The plastered purlin roof rests on remarkable roof trusses; from the lower collar each rafter rests on the block balk which is connected with an extra brace that runs from the floor to half the height of the rafter; above that the corbel connects the rafter and the collar beam. On the lower collar stands a V-collar. The property forms part of the courtyard of the Fundatie Metelerkamp consisting of Nieuwe Kamp 2 through 12 (even) on a lane, and Achterom 2 and 4, backing against it. The Fundatie was founded on 2 May 1844 and manages the only Utrecht courtyard whose detached dwellings still function as such. (Though the residents contribute in part to maintenance costs). The interiors are preserved fairly intact.
The property is of architectural-historical importance both externally and internally; moreover, the detached dwelling as part of the complex is of historical and urban planning importance.
