Omschrijving
Op ca.0,6 kilometer ten Noord-Oosten van het dorp Ruinen, in opdracht van de gelijknamige gemeente, aan de rand van de Ruiner es in 1964 herbouwde beltmolen.
Het betreft een oorspronkelijk uit het naburig dorp Echten, eveneens gemeente Ruinen, afkomstige grondzeiler-korenmolen, welke in 1962-63 is afgebroken teneinde deze op een betere situering in de gemeente te herplaatsen. De naam Zaandplatte is ontleend aan veldnaam ter plaatse van de nieuwe locatie. Bij de herbouw is tegen de deels uit beton opgetrokken en deels gemetselde ronde, nieuwe onderbouw een aarden wal aangebracht. Boven het niveau van de belt is het nog gave grenen achtkant met eiken boventafelelement en daarop de kap van de molen uit Echten aanwezig. Een bijzonderheid van het achtkant van deze oorspronkelijk uit 1866-1868 daterende, bij de voormalige sluis in de Hoogeveensche Vaart gebouwde molen, is dat aan de zgn. losse binten korbelen ontbreken. De met oude onderdelen van het gaande werk toegeruste molen, waaronder een koppel blauwe maalstenen, mist alleen het luiwerk. De molen heeft stalen roeden met een vlucht van 19 meter en een gietijzeren as. De kap van de molen kruit op een glijring, welke een secundair gebruikte, op zijn kop liggende overring is. Onder de windpeluw bevindt zich een opvallende baard, ter gelegenheid van de herbouw aangebracht, met daarop de naam, alsmede het wapen van de gemeente Ruinen. Achtkante belt-windkorenmolen, waarvan zowel het achtkant als de kap met riet gedekt zijn, en hoofdzakelijk samengesteld uit de onderdelen van de oorspronkelijke molen te Echten, van algemeen belang uit oogpunt van architectuur- en cultuurhistorische waarde wegens de sobere molenbouw, zoals op het platteland in Noord- en Oost-Nederland gebruikelijk was.

Description
Belt mill rebuilt in 1964 at approximately 0.6 kilometres north-east of the village of Ruinen, on commission of the similarly-named municipality, at the edge of the Ruiner es.
It concerns an originally from the neighbouring village of Echten, also municipality of Ruinen, derived ground-sailer grain mill, which in 1962-63 was dismantled in order to relocate it to a better location in the municipality. The name Zaandplatte is derived from a field name at the site of the new location. During the rebuilding, against the round new substructure, partly constructed of concrete and partly bricked, an earthen bank was applied. Above the level of the belt the still sound pine octagon with oak top-frame element and thereupon the cap of the mill from Echten is present. A peculiarity of the octagon of this mill, originally dating from 1866-1868, built at the former lock in the Hoogeveensche Vaart, is that the so-called loose ties lack corbels. The mill, equipped with old components of the working mechanism, including a pair of blue millstones, lacks only the turning mechanism. The mill has steel sails with a span of 19 metres and a cast-iron shaft. The cap of the mill revolves on a sliding ring, which is a secondary-used, upturned ring. Below the wind pillow is a striking beard, applied on the occasion of the rebuilding, with thereupon the name, as well as the coat of arms of the municipality of Ruinen. Octagonal belt wind-grain mill, of which both the octagon and the cap are reed-covered, and mainly composed of the components of the original mill at Echten, of general importance from the point of view of architectural and cultural-historical value due to the austere mill construction, as was customary in the countryside in Northern and Eastern Netherlands.
