Omschrijving
Markant op een snijpunt van wegen gelegen restant van de voormalige molen 'De Hoop', gebouwd als windkorenmolen in 1836 door molenbouwers Gebroeders Looman te Deventer. In 1897 werd een oliemotor geplaatst, in 1924 een electromotor. De onttakeling vond plaats omstreeks 1930. Voor de algehele restauratie in 1990- 1991 waren van vroegere molen nog bewaard het stenen achtkant, het middendeel en het houten achtkant en, inwendig, een deel van de vloeren en een deel van het lui- en kruiwerk.
De bijgebouwen vallen buiten de bescherming.
Molenrestant bestaande uit een uit bruinrode baksteen opgetrokken achtkante voet met gepotdekseld middendeel en een gaaf met riet bekleed grenen achtkant.
Twee stel dubbele deuren onder segmentboog met duimstenen en sluitsteen van Bentheimer zandsteen, met op een daarvan het opschrift IVD/HW/1836; luiken, houten en gietijzeren rondboogramen met tracering.

Description
Striking remnant of the former mill 'De Hoop', situated at a junction of roads, built as a wind grain mill in 1836 by millwrights Gebroeders Looman of Deventer. In 1897 an oil motor was installed, in 1924 an electric motor. The dismantling took place around 1930. For the general restoration in 1990-1991 of the former mill there were preserved the stone octagon, the middle section and the wooden octagon and, internally, part of the floors and part of the turning and rotational mechanism.
The outbuildings fall outside the protection.
