Omschrijving
HERMITAGE.
In de westhoek van de parkaanleg gesitueerd aan een kleine waterpartij in landschapsstijl een hermitage in rode baksteen uit de eerste helft van de 19e eeuw, met voorzijde naar het zuiden gericht.
Centraal aan de voorzijde een halfrond deurkozijn omlijst met hardstenen pilasters met Dorische kapitelen en hardstenen kroonlijst. Aan weerszijden hiervan een halfrond venster, waar zich oorspronkelijk volgens oude foto's een paar lancetboogvormige kozijnen hebben bevonden. De zijmuren, die zich naar achteren toe onregelmatig verjongen en als zodanig het wellicht vanoudse ruineuze karakter van de hermitage verhogen, springen ten aanzien van de voorgevel iets naar voren en begrenzen de korte zijden van het met gele klinkers en voor de ingangspartij met rode plavuizen beklede voorpad.
Ter weerszijden van de ingangspartij is dit voorpad van een eenvoudig smeedijzeren spijlenhek voorzien. De achtermuur reikt tot heuphoogte.

Description
HERMITAGE.
Situated in the western corner of the park layout at a small water feature in landscape style, a hermitage in red brick from the first half of the 19th century, with front facing south.
Centrally at the front a semicircular doorway framed with hardstone pilasters with Doric capitals and hardstone cornice. On either side of this a semicircular window, where originally according to old photographs a pair of lancet-arched windows were located. The side walls, which taper irregularly towards the rear and as such perhaps enhance the formerly ruinous character of the hermitage, project slightly forward in relation to the front facade and bound the short sides of the forecourt, which is paved with yellow clinkers and, for the entrance section, with red tiles.
On either side of the entrance section this forecourt is furnished with a simple wrought-iron balustrade. The rear wall reaches to hip height.
