Omschrijving
Complex van twee sluizen bij de uitmonding van de Willemsvaart in de IJSSEL. Onderdeel van een schans die behoort tot de in 1598 aangelegde Zwolse linien. Kleine sluis, blijkens een steen gebouwd van 1818-1819. Doorvaartbreedte ca. 6 m. Over deze sluis een enkele ophaalbrug (1873). Grote sluis, doorvaartbreedte ca. 12m., waarover een dubbele ophaalbrug (1873). Beide sluizen hebben fraaie binnensluisdeuren in de landhoofden van de bruggen, vervaardigd van geconstrueerd ijzer. De sluizen bevinden zich in een schans, die deel uitmaakt van de in 1598 aangelegde Zwolse Linien. Unieke combinatie van een vestingwerk en een waterbouwkundig werk.

Description
Complex of two locks at the mouth of the Willemsvaart into the IJSSEL. Component of a sconce belonging to the Zwolle Lines laid out in 1598. Small lock, according to a stone built 1818-1819. Passage width c. 6 m. Over this lock a single lifting bridge (1873). Large lock, passage width c. 12 m., over which a double lifting bridge (1873). Both locks have fine inner lock gates in the bridge abutments, made of constructed iron. The locks are located in a sconce, which forms part of the Zwolle Lines laid out in 1598. Unique combination of a fortification and a hydraulic engineering work.
