Omschrijving
PIJLERS MET HEKWERK. Twee bakstenen hekpijlers, met eenvoudig 18e-eeuws smeedijzeren draaihek met tralies, bekroond door twee 18e-eeuwse hardstenen kolen, voorzien van van boven naar onderen uitzwenkende zijstukken.
Pijlers en hek zijn aan het eind van '30-er jaren van deze eeuw door de toenmalige eigenaar C.J.A. Begeer van een huis aan de Schoolstraat te Voorschoten (ter plaatse van de huidige Gereformeerde Kerk) naar Berbice getransporteerd en aan de slootrand aan de zuidwestgrens van de aanleg (kadastraal perceel Voorschoten nr. A 4916) geplaatst, als afsluiting van de daar gelegen brug naar het terrein van de toenmalige zilverfabriek van Kempen & Begeer (kadastraal perceel Voorschoten nr. A 5066).

Description
PILLARS WITH GATES. Two brick gate pillars, with a simple 18th-century wrought-iron hinged gate with rails, topped by two 18th-century hardstone coal-finials, provided with side pieces angling outward from top to bottom.
Pillars and gate were transported by the then owner C.J.A. Begeer from a house on the Schoolstraat at Voorschoten (at the location of the present Gereformeerde Kerk) to Berbice at the end of the 1930s and placed on the ditch edge at the southwest boundary of the layout (cadastral plot Voorschoten no. A 4916), as a closure of the bridge located there to the site of the then silver factory of Kempen & Begeer (cadastral plot Voorschoten no. A 5066).
