Omschrijving
Kortegaard van de Ruiterwacht, sinds eeuwen reeds als woonhuis en stal in gebruik. Bakstenen gevel met rijke toepassing van natuurstenen sierdelen. Rolwerkversiering, waarin o.a. knap gehouwen ramskoppen langs de hoge geveltop en als bekroning een gebroken fronton met obelisk, waaronder het jaartal 1639. Het huis, dat alleen beganegrond heeft, waarboven twee zolderverdiepingen, heeft in deze verdiepingen bakstenen kruisen tweelichtvensters met getoogde middendorpels. Grote inrijpoort tussen Toscaanse pilasters en te weerszijden smalle vensters. Geblokte ontlastingsbogen met als sluitstenen leeuwenmaskers en consoles. Het pand, dat in de loop der eeuwen zeer gemutileerd was, werd ca. 1958 gerestaureerd, waarbij de topgevel met zijn vensters in de oorspronkelijke vorm werd teruggebracht, evenals de vensters naast de poort, welke een roedenverdeling in stijl ca. 1800 kregen. Description
Kortegaard van de Ruiterwacht, in use for centuries already as a dwelling and stable. Brick facade with rich application of natural stone decorative elements. Rollwork ornamentation, including finely carved ram's heads along the high gable top and as a crowning feature a broken pediment with obelisk, beneath which the date 1639. The house, which has only a ground floor, above which two attic storeys, has in these storeys brick cross two-light windows with arched intermediate mullions. Large entrance gateway between Tuscan pilasters and on either side narrow windows. Blocked relieving arches with lion masks and consoles as keystones. The building, which over the centuries had been very mutilated, was restored circa 1958, during which the top gable with its windows was returned to the original form, as were the windows beside the gate, which received glazing bars in the style circa 1800. Pointed gable on the rear side.
