Zuidoostelijke woningreeks, Merelstraat 42-50.
Grotendeels symmetrisch opgezette woningreeks, bestaande uit vijf eengezinswoningen, waarvan vier telkens gespiegeld naast elkaar met kapverdieping onder dwarse pannen kap met laag doorgezet schild aan de linkerzijde en kleiner schild aan de rechterzijde en doorbroken door een langgerekte dakkapelreeks met aan de rechterzijde een bij de hoek omgezet venster; rechts de teruggerooide vijfde woning (nr. 42), die lager is opgetrokken met blinde kopgevel onder dwarskap met rechts een schild en links een gecementeerde schoorsteenpartij.
Woningreeks, deel uitmakend van het complex met monumentnummer 407236 en als zodanig van belang.
NB Het door het Gemeentelijk Woningbedrijf thans eveneens bij het tiende woningbouwcomplex ingedeelde, doch zowel in architectuur als wat betreft situering veel meer bij het niet beschermde, negende woningbouwcomplex en Jan van der Heijdenschool aansluitende reeksje van drie woningen aan de Nachtegaalstraat 32-36 valt buiten de bescherming.
De moderne lage hekjes bij de voortuinen vallen evenals de individueel geplaatste moderne schuurtjes en afscheidingsmuren op de achtererven buiten de bescherming.

Southeastern row of houses, Merelstraat 42-50.
Largely symmetrically arranged row of houses consisting of five single-family houses, of which four mutually mirrored next to each other with roof-storey under a transverse tile roof with low continuous shield on the left side and smaller shield on the right side and interrupted by an elongated roof dormer row with on the right side a window reversed at the corner; on the right the set-back fifth house (no. 42), which is constructed lower with blind end gable under a transverse roof with on the right a shield and on the left a cemented chimney structure.

N.B. The row of three houses on Nachtegaalstraat 32-36, currently also classified by the Municipal Housing Company as part of the tenth housing complex, but architecturally and in terms of location much more connected with the unprotected ninth housing complex and the Jan van der Heijdenschool, falls outside the protection.
The modern low fences at the front gardens as well as the individually placed modern sheds and boundary walls on the rear yards fall outside the protection.
