HOUTEN TUINHUIS, aan de Vecht gelegen, op achtzijdige grondslag, met vlak dak met overstek, dat geschraagd wordt door gootklossen, die paarsgewijs op de hoeken aan de bovenkant van elke zijde aanzetten. Het in de jaren '80 van deze eeuw gerestaureerde en enigszins in Jugendstil opgetrokken tuinhuis, dat uit ca. 1900 dateert en in ca. 1920 van Houdringe (De Bilt) naar Sterreschans is verplaatst, is omgaand van een daklijst van verticale delen met muizetandvormige begrenzing aan de onderzijde voorzien. De naar het oosten (Vecht) gerichte ingangspartij, die een gehele zijde in beslag neemt, bestaat uit een rechthoekig kozijn, waarin vroeger een dubbele draaideur met aan weerszijden twee ruitloze vensters met diagonale roedenverdeling en aan de bovenzijde vier ruitloze bovenlichten met op de hoeken driepasboogvormige omlijsting. Aan weerszijden van de ingangspartij een over de gehele breedte van de zijden gelegen venster met smaller centraal aan deze zijden gesitueerd bovenlicht, waarin een Jugendstil-patroon van verticale, horizontale en gebogen roedenverdeling. Description
WOODEN GARDEN HOUSE, situated by the Vecht, on an eight-sided ground plan, with flat roof and overhang, which is braced by gutter blocks, set in pairs at the corners on the top of each side. The garden house, restored in the 1980s of this century and built somewhat in Art Nouveau style, dating from circa 1900 and relocated circa 1920 from Houdringe (De Bilt) to Sterreschans, is provided all around with a cornice of vertical parts with mouse-tooth shaped edging on the underside. The entrance section facing east (Vecht), which occupies an entire side, consists of a rectangular window frame, in which formerly a double swing door with on either side two frameless windows with diagonal glazing bars and above four frameless fanlights with three-lobed arch-shaped framing at the corners. On either side of the entrance section a window extending the full width of the sides with narrower centrally situated fanlight on these sides, in which an Art Nouveau pattern of vertical, horizontal and curved glazing bars.
