Omschrijving
Op hoog gelegen hof even buiten de kern van Mechelen gesitueerde 19e eeuwse VAKWERKSCHUUR, opgetrokken met de nok evenwijdig aan die van het woonhuis en met de korte zijde naar de weg geplaatst.
Op rechthoekige plattegrond onder zadeldak gebouwde vakwerkschuur waarvan de gevel langs de weg is uitgevoerd in ongesausde baksteen en de lange gevel aan de hof bestaat uit vakwerk (baksteen en vlechtwerk met leem); in het verlengde van de hofgevel een lagere aanbouw in baksteen onder dwars lessenaarsdak; de topgevel van de schuur bevat aan die zijde bovenaan eveneens vakwerk; de tweede lange gevel bestaat gedeeltelijk uit vakwerk (nabij de weg) en gedeeltelijk uit baksteen; dit laatste deel bevindt zich onder aan aankapping, die aan de rechter zijde is voorzien van staand beschot en aan de lange zijde rust op een bakstenen muur, de linker zijde is open.
Aan de hofzijde heeft de schuur hoge dubbele mendeuren en twee staldeuren, aan de veldzijde eveneens een staldeur.
Het vakwerk is wit gesausd, de regels en stijlen zijn bruin/zwart geschilderd.
De daken zijn gedekt met oude rode en blauwe pannen.
De 19e eeuwse vakwerkschuur met aanbouw en aankapping is van algemeen belang zowel vanwege zijn ouderdom en situering als vanwege zijn typologische en ensemblewaarde en als zodanig van architectuur- en cultuurhistorische waarde.

Description
A 19th-century TIMBER BARN situated on a high-lying farmyard just outside the centre of Mechelen, constructed with the ridge parallel to that of the dwelling house and positioned with the short side towards the road.
A timber barn built on a rectangular plan beneath a gabled roof, of which the facade along the road is executed in unrendered brick and the long side facing the farmyard consists of timber-framing (brick and wattle-and-daub with clay); in line with the yard facade a lower outbuilding in brick beneath a transverse lean-to roof; the gable of the barn contains timber-framing at the top on that side; the second long facade consists partly of timber-framing (near the road) and partly of brick; this latter part is covered with a lean-to roof, which is provided with vertical boarding on the right side and on the long side rests on a brick wall, the left side is open.
On the yard side the barn has large double double-hung doors and two stable doors, on the field side likewise a stable door.
The timber-framing is painted white, the rails and stiles are painted brown/black.
The roofs are covered with old red and blue tiles.
The 19th-century timber barn with outbuilding and lean-to is of general importance both due to its age and location and due to its typological and ensemble value and as such possesses architectural and cultural-historical importance.
