Omschrijving
Stadhuis. In 1862 vernieuwd, rechthoekig gebouw, dat van het laat 17e eeuwse raadhuis de in natuursteen uitgevoerde middenpartij bewaard heeft. Getoogde deur in gebosseerde omlijsting, hoofdgestel met fries, waarin triglyphen en metopen; boven de kroonlijst een opzetstuk met geprofileerde, gebogen afdekking, waaronder het door Leeuwen vastgehouden stadswapen. Hierboven een natuurstenen sokkel, waarin het jaartal 1698, bekroond door een Justitiabeeld. Het natuurstenen bordes, van 18e eeuws karakter met balusterhek, is in 1890 vernieuwd.

Description
Town Hall. Renewed in 1862, rectangular building, which from the late 17th-century town hall has retained the central section executed in natural stone. Arched door in boshed moulding, entablature with frieze, in which triglyphs and metopes; above the cornice a superstructure with profiled, curved coping, beneath which the city coat of arms held by lions. Above this a natural stone plinth, in which the date 1698, crowned by a Justice statue. The natural stone steps, of 18th-century character with baluster railing, was renewed in 1890.
