Kenmerkende KOLONIE-WONING met bakhuisje, van de Maatschappij van Weldadigheid (opgericht 1818), in aanleg XIX A, doch in de loop der tijd aangepast aan moderne eisen en voorzien van aankubbing. Een dergelijke woning omvatte oorspronkelijk een eenvoudig woongedeelte aan de voorzijde en schuur, dorsdeel en stal aan de achterzijde, van elkaar gescheiden door slaapkamers. Het woongedeelte was opgetrokken uit baksteen en voorzien van enige vensters- en deuropeningen, meestal voorzien van een roede-indeling; het bedrijfsgedeelte was opgetrokken uit houten palen, bekleed met geteerde planken. Het dak was gedekt met stro of riet. Het oudste type (1819 e.v.) kende een schoorsteen op de scheiding van woon- en bedrijfsgedeelte; het wat latere type een schoorsteen met rookkanaal tegen de voorgevel, terwijl ook het achterste gedeelte van een rookkanaal kon zijn voorzien. Gebouw behorende tot de kolonie-gebouwen van de Maatschappij van Weldadigheid. Description
Characteristic COLONY DWELLING with bake-house, of the Maatschappij van Weldadigheid (founded 1818), in layout first half of the 19th century, but adapted over time to modern requirements and provided with rendered facade. Such a dwelling originally comprised a simple residential section at the front and barn, threshing floor and stable at the rear, separated from each other by bedrooms. The residential section was built of brick and provided with some window and door openings, usually equipped with glazing bars; the business section was built of wooden posts, clad with tarred planks. The roof was covered with straw or reed. The oldest type (from 1819 onwards) had a chimney on the division between residential and business section; the somewhat later type had a chimney with flue against the front facade, while the rear section could also be equipped with a flue.
