Omschrijving
Segment van verdedigingswerk vesting Gorinchem, deel uitmakend van de Nieuwe Hollandse Waterlinie. Het werk bestaat uit een aanleg van aardwerken en bijbehorende bebouwing en objecten zoals hierna genoemd.
De aanleg is een onderdeel van de zuidelijke verdedigingswal van Gorinchem en omvat een courtine tussen bastion VI en bastion VII.
Ter plaatse van de voormalige Waterpoort bevindt zich een coupure in de courtine, bestaande uit twee gemetselde keermuren, voorzien van schotbalksponningen.

Description
Segment of fortification work of Gorinchem fortress, forming part of the Nieuwe Hollandse Waterlinie. The work consists of an earthwork installation and associated buildings and objects as named below.
The installation forms part of the southern defensive wall of Gorinchem and comprises a curtain between bastion VI and bastion VII.
At the location of the former Waterpoort there is a coupure in the curtain, consisting of two brick retaining walls, provided with bar-slot mortises.
