Monumentaal opgezet landhuis, ten dele daterend uit het derde kwart van de 19e eeuw, na 1916 in de huidige vorm gebracht en uitgebreid in opdracht van de Duitse bankier Alfred Hethey. Het gepleisterde rechthoekige complex heeft een vleugel aan de Rijksstraatweg, vermoedelijk uit het derde kwart 19e eeuw, met een verdieping en een door Toscaanse en Ionische muurzuiltjes gelede gevel in vormen, ontleend aan de Franse renaissance. Op deze vleugel een met leien gedekt schilddak met door frontons bekroonde en van wangstukken voorziene dakkapellen en oeil-de-boeufs. Voorgevel met door pilasters versierde en van een portiek met balustrade voorziene middenrisaliet. Op de linker hoek een veelhoekig torenvormig paviljoen, met achthoekige, door inzwenkende daken onderbroken bekroning in vormen die een datering omstreeks 1916 aannemelijk maken. Inwendig o.a. een zaal met betimmering en plafond met beschildering, hal met trap en 17e eeuwse schoorsteenmantel en op de verdieping kamers en gangen met betimmeringen, alles in op de renaissance geïnspireerde vormen en waarschijnlijk daterend van de verbouwing omstreeks 1916. Het pand is gebouwd op een perceel, bestaande uit een heuvel, die deel uitmaakt van een parkaanleg, en een plateau, waarop een siertuin. De overgang tussen deze beide delen wordt gevormd door een aanleg met trappen, bordessen en terrassen in neobarokke trant. Hek met inrijpoort aan de straatweg in voor het tweede decennium van de 20e eeuw karakteristieke vormen. Aan de overzijde van de straatweg een overtuin met hek.

Description
Monumentally conceived country house, partly dating from the third quarter of the 19th century, brought into its present form and extended after 1916 at the instigation of German banker Alfred Hethey. The rendered rectangular complex has a wing on the Rijksstraatweg, probably dating from the third quarter of the 19th century, with an upper storey and a facade framed by Tuscan and Ionic pilasters in forms borrowed from French Renaissance. On this wing a hipped roof covered with slates with dormers crowned by pediments and furnished with side pieces and oeil-de-boeufs. Front facade with a central projection decorated with pilasters and furnished with a portico and balustrade. On the left corner a polygonal tower-shaped pavilion, with an octagonal, interrupted by inswept roofs, crowning in forms which suggest a dating around 1916. Interior including inter alia a room with panelling and ceiling with painted decoration, hall with staircase and 17th century fireplace mantel and on the upper storey rooms and corridors with panellings, all in forms inspired by the Renaissance and probably dating from the remodelling around 1916. The building is constructed on a plot consisting of a hill, which forms part of a park layout, and a plateau, on which a formal garden. The transition between these two parts is formed by a layout with stairs, landings and terraces in neo-Baroque style. Gate with carriage entrance at the street in forms characteristic of the second decade of the 20th century. On the opposite side of the street an over-garden with gate.
