Omschrijving
St. Bartholomeus. Neoclassicistische hallenkerk uit 1825-1826 met Ionische zuilen en arcaden. Verbouwd tot een vierbeukige ruimte met zuilenrij in de as en exterieur in neorenaissancevormen met toren naast het koor door J. Kayser, 1891-1892. Houten bovenbouw op de toren, geïnspireerd op de St. Stevenstoren in Nijmegen. Na beschadiging in de laatste wereldoorlog is de kerk in 1952 weer driebeukig gemaakt en van een cassettenplafond voorzien. Neobarok meubilair, uit andere kerken afkomstig: hoogaltaar afkomstig uit de voormalige R.K. kerk te Westerblokker; communiebank afkomstig uit de voormalige St. Willibrorduskerk te Den Haag; preekstoel, biechtstoelen, alles eerste helft 19e eeuw. Orgel met Hoofdwerk en Onderwerk, in 1831 als eerste orgel gemaakt door H.D. Lindsen. In 1973 door Verschueren Orgelbouw gerestaureerd en geplaatst in een vroeg 19e eeuwse kas, aangekocht van de fa. Description
St. Bartholomeus. Neoclassical hall church from 1825-1826 with Ionic columns and arcades. Remodelled into a four-aisle space with a colonnade along the axis and exterior in neo-Renaissance forms with a tower beside the choir by J. Kayser, 1891-1892. Wooden superstructure on the tower, inspired by the St. Stevenstoren in Nijmegen. After damage in the Second World War, the church was made three-aisled again in 1952 and provided with a coffered ceiling. Neo-Baroque furnishings, originating from other churches: high altar originating from the former R.C. church at Westerblokker; communion rail originating from the former St. Willibrorduskerk at Den Haag; pulpit, confessionals, all first half of the 19th century. Organ with Great and Positive divisions, made in 1831 as the first organ by H.D. Lindsen. In 1973 restored by Verschueren Orgelbouw and placed in an early 19th century case, purchased from the firm Schijven at Brussel. A new independent Pedal was added.
