Omschrijving
Gedeelte van het voormalig fabriekscomplex van de textielfabriek Van den Bergh Krabbendam. Gebouwd in 1842 als Lancierskazerne; in 1859 in gebruik genomen als textielfabriek. Langgerekt bakstenen gebouw met verdieping en pannen wolfdak. De voorgevel heeft een houten kroonlijst en wordt onderbroken door een risalerend gedeelte met fronton en ingangspartij. Rondbogige parterrevensters, rechthoekige verdiepingsvensters. Aan de westzijde zijn in de recente tijd enkele traveeën afgebroken, waarna een nieuwe zijgevel werd opgetrokken, waarin de stichtingssteen herplaatst werd. Uit deze steen blijkt dat voor het pand in 1842 op last van Koning Willem II de eerste steen werd gelegd. Achter deze vleugel drie vleugels op carrevormige plattegrond, zonder verdieping en met zadeldaken, die oorspronkelijk aan de kazerne verbonden zijn geweest. Ten westen van de uit 1842 daterende vleugel van de St. Josephstraat een schoorsteen, opgetrokken in 1904.

Description
Part of the former factory complex of the Van den Bergh Krabbendam textile factory. Built in 1842 as the Lancers Barracks; taken into use in 1859 as a textile factory. Elongated brick building with storey and tiled half-hipped roof. The front facade has a wooden cornice and is interrupted by a projecting section with pediment and entrance arrangement. Round-arched ground-floor windows, rectangular storey windows. On the west side, several bays have been demolished in recent times, after which a new side facade was erected, in which the foundation stone was replaced. From this stone it appears that the foundation stone for the building was laid in 1842 by order of King Willem II. Behind this wing three wings on a square plan, without storeys and with gabled roofs, which were originally connected to the barracks. To the west of the wing of St. Josephstraat dating from 1842 a chimney, erected in 1904.
