In oorsprong uit 1799-1800 daterende gekoppelde SCHUTSLUIS in de Gouderaksedijk, met gemetselde schutkolkwanden en houten puntdeuren waarvan de punt telkens naar de Hollandsche IJssel is gekeerd, aangelegd ten behoeve van de geoctroyeerde vervening in de Krimpenerwaard.
De schutkolkwanden zijn opgetrokken in ijsselsteen, op 6.40 m afstand, met een lengte van 30.90 m, en voorzien van vlechtingen bij de afgeschuinde rechtstandmuren aan de lage oostzijde, en bij de randen van natuurstenen afdeklijsten en -blokken; voorts natuurstenen ingekaste blokken met ijzeren aanlegringen, een stel schutbalksponningen in de benedenhoofden, die tevens van rondboogvormige, met schuiven afsluitbare riolen zijn voorzien, en een dubbel stel schutbalksponningen in de bovenhoofden.
Op de schutkolkwanden zijn nog grotendeels de witgeschilderde ijzeren bedieningsmechanismen aanwezig.
De houten puntdeuren zijn blijkens inscripties het laatst vernieuwd in 1970 wat betreft de lage deuren, en in 1964 wat betreft de middelhoge en hoge deuren, die dicht op elkaar zijn geplaatst.
De oorspronkelijke houten wipbrug is reeds lang door een vaste brug vervangen; de huidige, moderne, brug wordt niet betrokken bij de bescherming.

Description
Originally dating from 1799-1800 coupled LOCK in the Gouderaksedijk, with mortared lock chamber walls and wooden pointed gates of which the point is each time turned towards the Hollandsche IJssel, constructed for the purpose of the chartered peat-digging in the Krimpenerwaard.
The lock chamber walls are built up in ijssel stone, at 6.40 m distance, with a length of 30.90 m, and provided with wattling at the bevelled perpendicular walls on the low east side, and at the edges with natural stone coping strips and blocks; furthermore natural stone inserted blocks with iron mooring rings, a pair of lock-beam seatings in the lower gates, which are also provided with semicircular-shaped, sluice-closable waste weirs, and a double pair of lock-beam seatings in the upper gates.
On the lock chamber walls the whitewashed iron operating mechanisms are still largely present.
The wooden pointed gates were last renewed according to inscriptions in 1970 as regards the low gates, and in 1964 as regards the middle-high and high gates, which are placed close together.
The original wooden rocker bridge was long ago replaced by a fixed bridge; the current, modern, bridge is not included in the protection.
Coupled lock of characteristic design from before the period of origin, and maintained also with later renewals, with later additions, of importance from the point of view of peat-digging history and of the development of hydraulic engineering.
