Omschrijving
Gymnasium. In 1765 als verbeterhuis voor gevallen vrouwen onder de naam "Blauwhuis", gesticht gebouw; sinds 1897 Gymnasium. Zeer sober, bakstenen gebouw ter breedte van zeven vensterassen, onder een schilddak met achtkantig houten klokkentorentje van twee verdiepingen met koepeldaken. De uitwendige versiering is beperkt tot de omlijsting van de toegangspoort, die in het boogveld boven de in zware rococo-vormen gebeeldhouwde latei drie familiewapens en als bekroning een groot stadswapen, omlijst door rococo-ornament heeft.

Description
Gymnasium. In 1765 as a reform house for fallen women under the name "Blauwhuis", founded building; since 1897 Gymnasium. Very austere, brick building in width of seven window bays, under a hipped roof with octagonal wooden bell tower of two storeys with cupola roofs. External ornament is limited to the framing of the entrance gate, which in the spandrel above the lintel carved in heavy rococo forms has three family coats of arms and as crown a large city coat of arms, framed by rococo ornament.
