Omschrijving
BURGERWEESHUIS. Groot rechthoekig gebouw, waarvan het schilddak op de nokhoek geaccentueerd wordt door rijk bewerkte schoorstenen, elk bekroond met een windvaan. In de middentravee van de voorgevel een ingang met bovenlicht in pilasteromlijsting. Daarboven een grote gepolychromeerde gevelsteen met een tekst op rijm, de voorstelling van spelende weeskinderen en het onderschrift: HET BURGERWEESHUYS Anno 1789. Boven de voorgevel drie dakkapellen met vleugelstukken en bekroningen met kuifstukken. In de gang Lodewijk XVI-stucwerk en een rococo-deuromlijsting. In de Regentenkamer geschilderd behang, XVIIId en een marmeren schoorsteenmantel in Lodewijk XV-stijl.

Description
BURGERS' ORPHANAGE. Large rectangular building, the hipped roof of which is accentuated at the ridge corner by richly worked chimneys, each crowned with a weathervane. In the central bay of the front facade an entrance with fanlight in pilaster moulding. Above it a large polychrome facade stone with a text in verse, a depiction of playing orphans and the inscription: HET BURGERWEESHUYS Anno 1789. Above the front facade three roof dormers with wing pieces and crownings with crest pieces. In the corridor Louis XVI stuccowork and a rococo door moulding. In the Regents' Room painted wallpaper, second half of the 18th century and a marble mantelpiece in Louis XV style.
