Description

Dutch Reformed Church. Large, late-Gothic village church, consisting of a nave with high north side aisle, a narrower and lower five-sided closed choir with on the north side a sacristy and a half-built-in tower, whose bell storey is decorated with three pointed arch niches in each façade plane. Curious brick south porch in neo-Gothic forms. Internally between the nave and the north aisle columns with undecorated list capitals. Wooden barrel vaults and roof ties with wall struts and corbels. Restoration of church and tower completed in 1967, whereby the latter received a capping in 17th century style. The inventory includes: a pulpit from 1633 with candle arm and hour-glass holder of brass, three brass candle crowns, 17th century, a text board (1840) after a 17th century example and a number of gravestones from the 15th, 16th and 17th century.
