Omschrijving
Zware toren van de St. Plechelmuskerk aan de westzijde, uit het midden en de tweede helft van de dertiende eeuw. Klokkenstoel met gelui van vijf klokken, waarvan één van G. van Wou, 1493, diam. 159,9 cm., twee speelklokken, die tevens als luidklok dienst doen, van Gillett en Johnston, 1929, diam. respectievelijk 107,1 cm. en 96,6 cm. en twee moderne klokken. Klokkenspel bestaande uit 1 klok van G. van Wou, 1493 (zie boven), 42 klokken van Gillett en Johnston, 1930 en 5 moderne klokken. Trommelspeelwerk van Eijsbouts, 1930. Mechanisch torenuurwerk B. Eijsbouts, Asten, 1930, later voorzien van elektrische opwinding. Op de steunbeer westelijk van de zuid-ingang, is in Bentheimersteen een cirkelvormige zonnewijzer ingebeiteld. Aan het koor is ook een cirkelvormige zonnewijzer op de eerste steunbeer aangebracht en dateert van na 1480.

Description
Heavy tower of St. Plechelmus Church on the west side, from the middle and second half of the thirteenth century. Bell frame with peal of five bells, of which one by G. van Wou, 1493, diam. 159.9 cm., two playing bells, which also serve as striking bells, by Gillett and Johnston, 1929, diam. respectively 107.1 cm. and 96.6 cm. and two modern bells. Carillon consisting of 1 bell by G. van Wou, 1493 (see above), 42 bells by Gillett and Johnston, 1930 and 5 modern bells. Drum-action by Eijsbouts, 1930. Mechanical tower clock B. Eijsbouts, Asten, 1930, later provided with electric winding. On the buttress west of the south entrance, a circular sundial is chiselled in Bentheim stone. At the choir a circular sundial has also been placed on the first buttress and dates from after 1480.
