Hof van Solms, thans Sint Franciscushof. GROOT HUIS waar in de XVIIe eeuw, tot 1663, een Carmelitessenklooster gevestigd was (in 1931 keerden zij in Oirschot terug en namen hun intrek in huis Blijendaal aan de Nieuwstraat 28). In 1663, toen de nonnen verjaagd werden, gaf de gravin van Solms het huis ten geschenke aan de chirurgijn Arnold Fey uit erkentelijkheid voor een welgeslaagde operatie. Deze (in 1663 heer van Cranenburg, overleden in 1679) liet wellicht de huidige gevel zetten. In 1904 is het huis gekocht door de Franciscanessen van het klooster Nazareth die het inrichtte voor oude en zieke zusters. Hoofdgebouw met rechthoekig hierop staande vleugels (thans daarvan gescheiden en respectievelijk 14 en 18 genummerd). Hof van Solms, now Sint Franciscushof. LARGE HOUSE where in the 17th century, until 1663, a Carmelite convent was established (in 1931 they returned to Oirschot and took up residence in house Blijendaal at Nieuwstraat 28). In 1663, when the nuns were expelled, the Countess of Solms gave the house as a gift to surgeon Arnold Fey in gratitude for a successful operation.
