Omschrijving
Wandelkerk of Tussenkerk. Oorspronkelijk de plaats van het transept van de romaanse XIII kerk. Daarna het oude middelkoor van de Abdijkerken, later afgeschut en bestemd voor verschillende doeleinden. Bij de jongste restauratie van de kerken is dit gedeelte zoveel mogelijk in oorspronkelijke vorm teruggebracht. De Wandelkerk is met de Koorkerk tot een ruimte samengevoegd (gescheiden door het oxaal), terwijl tevens de verbinding met de torens, in de vorm van een 21 meter hoge spitsboog, is hersteld. In de vloer zijn enkele uit de Nieuwe Kerk afkomstige grafzerken herplaatst. Tevens vindt men hier het praalgraf van de Gebroeders Evertsen, op last van de Staten van Zeeland in 1680-1682 vervaardigd door Rombout Verhulst, dat oorspronkelijk in de Noord Monster stond opgesteld. Twee naar voren komende tombes zijn geplaatst voor een tegen de muur aangebrachte opbouw van een met reliëf versierde sokkel, waarboven een door twee kindertjes geflankeerde gedenkplaat met inscriptie. Het geel, bekroond door en omgeven met krijgs- en scheepstrofeeen en wapens. Twee terzijde geplaatste obelisken voltooien het monument.

Description
Wandelkerk or Tussenkerk. Originally the location of the transept of the Romanesque 13th century church. Subsequently the old middle choir of the Abbey Churches, later partitioned off and assigned to various purposes. During the most recent restoration of the churches this section was as far as possible returned to its original form. The Wandelkerk has been merged with the Koorkerk into one space (separated by the gallery), while at the same time the connection with the towers, in the form of a 21 metre high pointed arch, has been restored. In the floor several memorial slabs from the Nieuwe Kerk have been relocated. Also found here is the monument of the Evertsen Brothers, made on the order of the States of Zeeland in 1680-1682 by Rombout Verhulst, which originally stood in the Noord Monster. Two projecting tombs are placed in front of a structure built against the wall of a plinth decorated with relief, above which is a memorial plaque with inscription flanked by two cherubs. The whole, crowned by and surrounded with military and naval trophies and arms. Two side-placed obelisks complete the monument.
