Complex van 18e-eeuws, later vergroot landhuis Beek en Hof (voormalig klooster Mater Dei) in parkaanleg met 18de-eeuwse theekoepel (begin 20ste eeuw verplaatst van Bolenstein) en deels omgeven door tuinmuur. Aan de overzijde van de Dorpsstraat, grenzend aan de Vecht, gelegen overtuin met theekoepel, hek, botenhuis en koetshuis met schuur (apart monumentnummer 26045). Het landhuis, bestaande uit kelder en twee bouwlagen met afgeplat schilddak, gedekt door oudhollandse pannen, is in kern tweede helft 18e-eeuws en bestond uit een entree met aan iedere zijde een vensteras. Het is in 1938 naar links en naar achteren (vleugel met uitgebouwde kapel) uitgebreid in dezelfde stijl, zodanig dat een symmetrische gevel ontstond, waarvan alleen de oude ingang niet meer in de as ligt. Deze entree heeft een dubbele Lodewijk XVI deur met waaiermotieven, een eenvoudige houten omlijsting en een hardstenen stoep. In de rechter zijgevel en achtergevel van het oude gedeelte bevinden zich vensters met een grote 6-ruits empire raamindeling. Het huis is omgeven door een tuin, waarvan de aanleg in de loop der tijd is gewijzigd en die wordt begrensd door de Dorpsstraat, de Molendijk en het Moleneind. Aan de Dorpsstraat wordt de tuin afgesloten door een tuinmuur, die ter plaatse van de voorgevel van het huis inzwenkt. Complex van belang vanwege de afzonderlijke onderdelen, maar ook vanwege de situering in het dorpsbeeld. Description
Complex of 18th-century, later enlarged country house Beek en Hof (former Mater Dei convent) in park setting with 18th-century tea pavilion (early 20th century moved from Bolenstein) and partly surrounded by garden wall. On the opposite side of the Dorpsstraat, bordering on the Vecht, situated grounds with tea pavilion, gate, boathouse and coach house with barn (separate monument number 26045). The country house, consisting of basement and two storeys with flattened hipped roof, covered with traditional Dutch tiles, is in its core second half of 18th century and consisted of an entrance with a window bay on each side. It was enlarged in 1938 to the left and to the rear (wing with built-out chapel) in the same style, such that a symmetrical facade was created, of which only the old entrance is no longer on axis. This entrance has a double Louis XVI door with fan motifs, a simple wooden surround and a sandstone step. In the right side facade and rear facade of the old section there are windows with a large 6-pane empire window arrangement. The house is surrounded by a garden, whose layout has been altered over time and which is bounded by the Dorpsstraat, the Molendijk and the Moleneind. On the Dorpsstraat the garden is closed off by a garden wall, which angles inward at the location of the house's front facade. Complex of importance because of the separate components, but also because of its location in the village townscape. The front facade with the angled garden wall and the grounds towards the water lend the complex a monumental character, befitting the series of more modest country houses on the Vecht.
