Omschrijving
Langgerekt verdiepingloos gebouwd langs de Groeneweg, door vier lage vleugels verbonden met vier paviljoens aan de Perkswal, het geheel in 1862-'64 gebouwd.
De paviljoens zijn van verdiepingen voorzien en hebben door gestucte lisenen en omlijstingen langs vensters en ingangen een deftig aanzien; zij dragen de namen en wapens van de geslachten Burmania, Minnema, Auckema en Wierda.
In het midden van de lage vleugel aan de Groeneweg is boven de eenvoudige ingang een herinneringssteen geplaatst voor de stichters van het gasthuis in 1478.
De gevels zijn gerythmeerd door achtruitsvensters. Aan de achterzijde is de ingangspartij geaccentueerd door een klokkekoepeltje.
De lange vleugel wordt geflankeerd door poortjes in de 17e eeuwse trant, in het oostelijke waarvan onderdelen van het Schoenmakerspoortje zijn toegepast.
In de Julianavleugel uit 1910 is de gebeeldhouwde toegangspoort uit 1682 herplaatst. Boven het tympaan gebeeldhouwde figuren van St. Anthonius en twee bejaarden.

Description
Elongated building without storeys constructed along the Groeneweg, connected by four low wings with four pavilions at the Perkswal, the whole built in 1862-'64.
The pavilions are provided with storeys and have a dignified appearance through fluted pilasters and frames along windows and entrances; they bear the names and coats of arms of the families Burmania, Minnema, Auckema and Wierda.
In the middle of the low wing at the Groeneweg, above the simple entrance, a commemorative stone has been placed for the founders of the almshouse in 1478.
The façades are rhythmised by eight-light windows. On the rear side the entrance section is accentuated by a bell turret.
The long wing is flanked by gate openings in the 17th-century manner, in the eastern one of which components of the Shoemakers' Gate are incorporated.
In the Juliana wing from 1910 the sculptured entrance gate from 1682 has been re-installed. Above the tympanum sculptured figures of St. Anthonius and two elderly persons.
