Omschrijving
DUBBELE POORT. Poort met drie gewelfde gemetselde doorgangen van baksteen, tunnelsgewijs in de aarden vestingwal aangebracht. Aan weerskanten boven de poortbogen ter hoogte van de kroon van de wal een stenen borstwering met rechte lijst. Aan de landzijde op de borstwering een jaartalsteen met het bouwjaar van het westelijk deel, 1771. In 1932 is de poort aan oostelijke zijde uitgebreid met een tweede, gelijksoortige doorgang als het westelijke deel, benevens in verbinding daarmee een kleinere voetgangerstunnel.

Description
DOUBLE GATE. Gate with three vaulted brick-built passageways, tunnel-wise arranged in the earthen fortification wall. On either side above the arches at the height of the crown of the wall a stone breastwork with straight moulding. On the land side on the breastwork a date stone with the construction year of the western section, 1771. In 1932 the gate was extended on the eastern side with a second, similar passageway as the western section, as well as in connection with it a smaller pedestrian tunnel.
