Omschrijving
Dr. Aletta Jacobslyceum. Rechthoekig gebouw in eclectische trant, 1868. Het pand telt souterrain, bel-etage en verdieping. Op het dak een houten klokkentorentje, bestaande uit een vierkante, gesloten geleding met wijzerplaten en een achthoekige lantaarn met koepeldak. Rijk behandelde voorgevel met middenrisaliet, bekroond door fronton, waarboven opzetstuk met gesneden versiering. Vensters in geprofileerde omlijstingen met hoofdgestellen op consoles en lofwerkbekroningen in stuc. De middenrisaliet heeft een breed balkon met gietijzeren hek, waarin: Sappemeer. Op de hoekposten het jaartal 1868. Houten kroonlijst met gesneden consoles, verkropt boven de hoeklisenen en de middentraveeën van de zijgevels. De bescherming strekt zich uitsluitend uit over het in 1868 gebouwde, rechthoekige voorste gedeelte.

Description
Dr. Aletta Jacobslyceum. Rectangular building in eclectic style, 1868. The building comprises basement, piano nobile and first floor. On the roof a wooden bell cot, consisting of a square closed storey with clock faces and an octagonal lantern with dome roof. Richly treated front facade with central risalit, crowned by pediment, above which a superstructure with carved decoration. Windows in moulded surrounds with principal members on consoles and ornamental crests in stucco. The central risalit has a broad balcony with cast-iron railing, in which: Sappemeer. On the corner posts the date 1868. Wooden cornice with carved consoles, broken above the corner strips and the centre bays of the side facades. The protection extends solely to the rectangular front section built in 1868.
