Omschrijving
In dit huis zijn overblijfselen ingebouwd van de Leuvense of Gevangenpoort, n.l. de zware ronde noordelijke toren met tentdak en ten noorden daarvan een zwaar brok muurwerk met diepe spaarbogen aan de binnenzijde.
Deze poort behoorde tot de oudste ommuring van de stad, vroege 13e eeuw. Het huis er omheen bezit een simpele gevel met horizontaal gegroefd wit pleisterwerk, aan de voorkant een zadeldak evenwijdig aan de lijstgevel en aansluitend bij het dak van de poorttoren, aan de achterkant een topgevel.
De winkelpui dagtekent uit 1892 en bevat een gedenksteen uit dat jaar, de Leuvense poort voorstellende en met het opschrift: Dit is in de Lovensche Poort.

Description
In this house remains have been built in from the Louvain or Prison Gate, namely the heavy round northern tower with tent roof and to the north thereof a heavy piece of masonry with deep relieving arches on the inside.
This gate belonged to the oldest fortification of the city, early 13th century. The house built around it has a simple facade with horizontally grooved white render, at the front a gabled roof parallel to the cornice-topped facade and adjoining the roof of the gate tower, at the rear a gable end.
The shopfront dates from 1892 and contains a commemorative stone from that year, depicting the Louvain gate and with the inscription: This is in the Lovensche Poort.
