Omschrijving
Herv. kerk en het terrein rondom de kerk. De Herv. kerk, vóór de Reformatie gewijd aan de H.H. Andreas en Catharina, is een driebeukige basiliek in late Nederrijns gotische trant. Het schip, gebouwd omstreeks het midden der 15e eeuw, heeft pijlers en kruisribgewelven. Het koor, in oorsprong XVa doch vernieuwd en vergroot ca. 1500 (wijding 1504), is eenbeukig, heeft een driezijdige sluiting en draagt een netgewelf. Aan weerszijden van het koor kapellen, die door slanke zuilen van de kerkruimte gescheiden worden: de noordelijke met kruisribgewelven en de grotere zuidelijke met driezijdige sluiting en een netgewelf. Tegen de zuidelijke zijde van het koor een traptoren (1635). De kerk is gerestaureerd in 1895-'96 door P.J.H. en Jos. Th. Cuypers.
De kerk bezit: een romaanse zandstenen doopvont (XII), een preekstoel uit 1635 en een koorhek met Ionische pilasters en gesneden balusters uit 1645. Tegen de noordwand van het schip een orgel (1614) met beschilderde luiken (1677) en gesneden borstwering. Hierin een eenklaviers orgel met deels 16e eeuws pijpwerk. Twee koperen kaarsenkronen uit 1691. Verscheidene zerken, waaronder een laatgotische voor Michael Ernst van Bamberch, drost van Hattem met gebeeldhouwde ridderfiguur (1522) in de aan St. Anna gewijde zuidelijke kapel. Description
Herv. church and the ground surrounding the church. The Herv. church, before the Reformation dedicated to St. Andreas and St. Catharina, is a three-aisle basilica in late Lower Rhine Gothic style. The nave, built around the middle of the 15th century, has pillars and cross-ribbed vaults. The choir, originally 15th century but renewed and enlarged around 1500 (consecration 1504), is single-aisle, has a three-sided closing and carries a net vault. On either side of the choir are chapels, separated from the church space by slender columns: the northern one with cross-ribbed vaults and the larger southern one with three-sided closing and a net vault. Against the southern side of the choir a stair tower (1635). The church was restored in 1895-'96 by P.J.H. and Jos. Th. Cuypers.
The church possesses: a Romanesque sandstone baptismal font (XII), a pulpit from 1635 and a choir screen with Ionic pilasters and carved balusters from 1645. In this chapel also four paintings against the southern wall, seriously damaged and faded, including the "Feast of Job".
