Omschrijving
V.M. WEESHUIS. Langwerpig GEBOUW van veertien vakken op de hoek van de Spieringstraat en de Patersteeg. Sierlijke topgevel met natuurstenen banden, korfbogige ontlastingsbogen, geprofileerde waterlijsten, top met rolwerk-contouren en sierankers, gedateerd 1642.
De zijgevel aan de binnenhof heeft geblokte ontlastingsbogen boven de vensters; de gevel aan de Patersteeg daarentegen is grotendeels blind. Naast de voorgevel natuurstenen poortje tussen Jonische pilasters, bekroond door opzetstuk met reliëf van twee weeskinderen met stadswapen, waarboven gebogen fronton met puttokopje en: 1643.
Interieur: gesneden schouw (XVII) op caryatiden in de vorm van weeskinderen. Hierboven draagstuk van een laat-gotische schoorsteen.

Description
FORMER ORPHANAGE. Elongated BUILDING of fourteen bays on the corner of Spieringstraat and Patersteeg. Elegant stepped gable with natural stone bands, segmental relieving arches, profiled drip mouldings, top with rollwork contours and ornamental wall anchors, dated 1642.
The side facade facing the courtyard has blocked relieving arches above the windows; the facade on Patersteeg by contrast is largely blind. Next to the front facade a natural stone gatehouse between Ionic pilasters, crowned by a superstructure with relief of two orphans with city coat of arms, above which curved pediment with cherub head and: 1643.
Interior: carved chimney breast (17th century) on caryatids in the form of orphans. Above this support of a late Gothic chimney.
