GROTE OF ST. JANSKERK (Ned.Herv.). Zeer grote, laat-gotische KRUISBASILIEK. Koor 1485-1510; overige herbouwd na brand in 1552 onder leiding van de bouwmeester Cornelis Frederikszn. Onderbouw toren (XIV (?), zandstenen bovenbouw na 1552, bekroning vernieuwd midden XVII.
Tegen de oostelijke vijf zijbeuktraveeen diepe kapellen met puntgevels, welke laatste ook voorkomen aan de kooromgang. Inwendig zuilen met halfronde scheibogen (in de absis spitsbogig) en houten tongewelven. Gebrandschilderde ramen (XVI en XVII o.a. van de gebroeders Dirk en Wouter Crabeth), koorhek (marmer en koper J. Moreau 1736), kansel, doophek en banken Lod. XVI. Orgel met Hoofdwerk, Bovenwerk, Rugwerk en vrij Pedaal, in 1736 gemaakt door J.F. Moreau. In 1839 ingrijpend verbouwd door N.A. Lohman en Zoon en in 1893 door J.F. Witte. In 1983 gerestaureerd door Leeflang Orgelbouw.
Klokkenspel, waarvan 16 klokken gegoten door Pieter Hemony, 1675/76 en de ondergenoemde luidklok van H. Wegewaert, diam. 174,5 cm, die eveneens als beiaardklok dienst doet. Klokkenstoel met gelui bestaande uit vier klokken van H. Wegewaert, 1605, diam. resp. 174,5 cm, 149,5 cm, 124,2 cm en 118 cm. Speeltrommel uit 1691 gemaakt door Frederik van den Berg. Op de toren staat een roodkoperen zuidwijzer.

Description
GREAT OR ST. JOHN CHURCH (Dutch Reformed). Very large, late-gothic CROSS BASILICA. Choir 1485-1510; remainder rebuilt after fire in 1552 under the direction of master builder Cornelis Frederikszn. Lower part of tower (14th century (?), sandstone upper part after 1552, crown renewed mid 17th century.
Against the eastern five side-aisle bays deep chapels with pointed gables, the latter also occurring on the choir ambulatory. Inside columns with half-round ribs (in the apse pointed) and wooden barrel vaults. Stained glass windows (16th and 17th century including by the brothers Dirk and Wouter Crabeth), choir screen (marble and copper J. Moreau 1736), pulpit, baptism screen and benches Louis XVI. Organ with Great Work, Swell, Back Work and free Pedal, made in 1736 by J.F. Moreau. In 1839 substantially altered by N.A. Lohman and Son and in 1893 by J.F. Witte. In 1983 restored by Leeflang Organ Building.
Carillon, of which 16 bells cast by Pieter Hemony, 1675/76 and the below-mentioned tenor bell by H. Wegewaert, diam. 174.5 cm, which also serves as carillon bell.
