Omschrijving
Molen. "Westmolen". Aan de Schelluinse Vliet, ca. 2 km. ten westen van Gorinchem een wipwatermolen uit 1814, ter bemaling van de polder De Banne van Gorinchem en Kwakernaak.
Fraaie makelaar met jaartal en windvaan. In de sluitsteen boven de voorwaterloop staat het jaartal 1664. Hierboven een wapensteen met opschrift.
Deze molen is de westelijke van een paar, dat deze polder bemaalt. De andere staat op Gorinchems grondgebied. Beide werden gerestaureerd omstreeks 1959.

Description
Mill. "Westmolen". On the Schelluinse Vliet, approx. 2 km. to the west of Gorinchem a tipping water mill from 1814, for the drainage of the polder De Banne van Gorinchem and Kwakernaak.
Fine masonry with date and weathervane. In the keystone above the forewater the date 1664 is inscribed. Above this a coat of arms stone with inscription.
This mill is the western one of a pair that drains this polder. The other stands on Gorinchem's territory. Both were restored around 1959.
