Omschrijving
Op een verhoging met een natuurlijk talud in 1841 opgericht gietijzeren grafmonument voor Thomas Ainsworth (1795-1841), oprichter van de textielschool in Goor en grondlegger van de textielindustrie in Twente.
Tegen de zijwanden en de voorwand van de sokkel ijzeren platen met opliggende tekst.
Op de sokkel een trapsgewijs uitgevoerde verhoging, waarop de tombe met tympaanvormige afdekking. Reliefversieringen in voor- en zijwanden van de tombe.
Op de hoeken van de tombe ridderfiguurtjes, die elk twee schilden met het familiewapen van het geslacht Ainsworth vasthouden. Het monument staat op een gemetselde en met Bentheimerzandsteen afgedekte grafkelder, waarvan de door een zandstenen zerk afgedekte toegang zich voor het monument bevindt.

Description
Erected in 1841 on a raised platform with a natural slope, a cast-iron funeral monument for Thomas Ainsworth (1795-1841), founder of the textile school in Goor and pioneer of the textile industry in Twente.
Iron plates with raised text against the side walls and front wall of the base.
On the base a stepped elevation, upon which the tomb with pediment-shaped capping. Relief decorations in the front and side walls of the tomb.
On the corners of the tomb knight figures, each holding two shields with the family coat of arms of the Ainsworth family. The monument stands on a mortared burial vault capped with Bentheim sandstone, of which the access covered by a sandstone gravestone is located in front of the monument.
