Omschrijving
Toegangspoort tot het v.m. Burgerweeshuis. Hardstenen boogpoort, voorzien van het Wapen van Zeeland, en voorts van guirlandes en kinderfiguren, gebeeldhouwd XVIII. Aan het binnenterrein achter de poort belangrijke restanten van het v.m. Klooster der Zwarte Zusteren; gebouw van twee verdiepingen met laat-gotisch houtskelet.
Het haaks op de latere voorbouw staande achterhuis bezit een gothische opbouw met houtskelet, waarbij de sleutelstukken met peerkraalprofiel zijn versierd.
De kap is weliswaar van sporen ontdaan en van dakbeschot voorzien, doch de spanten zijn bewaard gebleven. Linksachter een aanbouw onder pannen zadeldak welke, gezien de waterlijst, en de natuursteen hoekblokken in oorsprong 17e eeuws kan zijn en waarvan de kap waarschijnlijk in de 18e eeuw is vernieuwd. Gevel aan binnenplein in blokken gepleisterd.

Description
Entrance gate to the former Poor House. Hardstone arched gate, provided with the Coat of Arms of Zeeland, and further with garlands and putti, carved 18th century. In the interior courtyard behind the gate important remains of the former Cloister of the Black Sisters; two-storey building with late Gothic timber frame.
The rear house standing at right angles to the later front building has a Gothic structure with timber frame, in which the keystones are decorated with a pear-shaped ogee moulding.
The roof has admittedly been stripped of its principal rafters and provided with roof boards, but the common rafters have been preserved. To the left rear an extension under a tiled gabled roof which, judging by the drip moulding and the natural stone corner blocks, can originally be 17th century and of which the roof was probably renewed in the 18th century. Facade on inner courtyard plastered in blocks.
