Omschrijving
Omvat twee panden, tot voor kort de ambtswoning van de burgemeester vormende. Het linkerhuis heeft een zadeldak en een laat XVIe eeuwse trapgevel met sierankers; het achtergedeelte van het huis omvat een kelder met een tongewelf, XVe, in de benedenruimte van het rechtse huis daarboven zijn onlangs wandschilderingen uit omstreeks 1540 ontdekt, met taferelen uit het leven en lijden van Christus; het voorhuis is omstreeks 1565- '75 gebouwd. Sedert 1632 is het met het rechtse pand in een hand verenigd. Description
Comprises two properties, until recently forming the official residence of the mayor. The left house has a gabled roof and a late 16th century stepped gable with ornamental wall anchors; the rear part of the house comprises a cellar with a barrel vault, 15th century, in the ground floor of the right house recently wall paintings from circa 1540 were discovered, with scenes from the life and passion of Christ; the front house was built circa 1565-'75. Since 1632 it has been united with the right property. The right house likewise has a gabled roof and a stepped gable, a vaulted cellar, a rear house with timber framing from late 14th century or early 15th century, a front house from circa 1540; the late 16th or early 17th century stepped gable has natural stone courses in the masonry and diagonal pinnacles on either side of the top. Carved mantelpiece with figures of Ratio and Justitia and the family coats of arms of Van Beveren-Goudswaert. A central entrance for both houses, with blocked surround. Fourteen ornamental wall anchors.
