Omschrijving
Huis "Kernhem". Sober klassicistisch landhuis, gebouwd in 1803 ter plaatse van het middeleeuwse huis Kernhem, dat sinds 1426 een Gelders leen was. De herbouw in 1803 geschiedde in opdracht van Hacob Unico Willem van Wassenaar, gehuwd met Sophia Wilhelmina van Heeckeren. Het fraai in het hout gelegen, bakstenen gebouw, voorzien van een verdieping en een omlopend schilddak, met hoekschoorstenen, bezit aan de achterzijde een middenrisaliet met eenvoudige fronton, waarin een gebeeldhouwd wapen met leeuwen. Deuromlijsting met pilasters en hoofdgestel met in het fries triglyphen en metopen. De vensters hebben schuif- en draairamen uit een latere periode van de 19e eeuw.

Description
House "Kernhem". Sober classical country house, built in 1803 in place of the medieval house Kernhem, which since 1426 was a Gelderland fief. The reconstruction in 1803 was carried out on the orders of Hacob Unico Willem van Wassenaar, married to Sophia Wilhelmina van Heeckeren. The finely laid brick building, provided with an upper storey and a surrounding hipped roof, with corner chimneys, has on the rear side a central risalit with simple pediment, in which a sculpted coat of arms with lions. Door surround with pilasters and entablature with triglypha and metopes in the frieze. The windows have sash and casement windows from a later period of the 19th century.
