Omschrijving
V.m. Generaliteits kruitmagazijn. Zuidelijk van de stad aan de westelijke oever van de Schie gelegen complex, gebouwd in 1660 naar ontwerpen van Pieter Post. Slanke poorttoren, waarin een water- en landpoort gecombineerd zijn. Boven de doorgang het gebeeldhouwde wapen van Holland. Rechts en links van de poort eenvoudige bijgebouwen onder schilddaken. De eigenlijke kruitpakhuizen zijn twee eenvoudige, bakstenen bouwwerken op vierkante plattegrond, gedekt door schilddaken. Zij zijn omgeven door een groot waterbassin. In de poorttoren een rijk gebeeldhouwde schouw met wapen van Holland uit de bouwtijd.

Description
Formerly Generality powder magazine. Located south of the city on the western bank of the Schie, complex built in 1660 after designs by Pieter Post. Slender gate tower, in which a water and land gate are combined. Above the passage the sculpted coat of arms of Holland. Right and left of the gate simple ancillary buildings under hipped roofs. The actual powder warehouses are two simple brick structures on square plan, covered by hipped roofs. They are surrounded by a large water basin. In the gate tower a richly sculpted fireplace with coat of arms of Holland from the building period.
