14e eeuwse, bakstenen poorttoren met als enige versiering een uitkraging op drie bogen aan de zuidzijde. verhoogd in 1557 met een geleding in Nederrijns- gotische trant, waarvan de gevelvlakken verlevendigd worden door drie nissen met gedrukte spitsbogen. Tentdak met sierlijk houten torentje, bekroond door een peervormige spits. Het bouwwerk is gerestaureerd in 1940-1943, waarbij de trans naar een tekening van Pronk is herbouwd. Tegen de zuidgevel van het pand Binnenpoort 6 twee restanten van de in 1617 door de architect Jacob Canneman gebouwde voorpoort: op de hoek van een bakstenen pilasters, doorregen met een mergelbanden met kerfornament en bekroond door een hoofdgestel en hiernaast een gedeelte van een cilindervormige zijtorentje op overkraging. Description
14th century brick gate tower with as sole decoration a projection on three arches on the south side. Heightened in 1557 with a storey in Lower Rhenish-gothic manner, of which the wall faces are enlivened by three niches with depressed pointed arches. Tent roof with elegant wooden tower turret, crowned by a pear-shaped spire. The structure was restored in 1940-1943, whereby the transom was rebuilt according to a drawing by Pronk. Against the south facade of the building Binnenpoort 6 two remains of the forecourt built in 1617 by architect Jacob Canneman: at the corner brick pilasters, interspersed with marl bands with notch ornament and crowned by a cornice, and next to it a section of a cylindrical side turret on corbelling. In the turret of the gate a bell, 1509, Willem van Wou.
