Voormalig Kasteel, thans deel uitmakend van een gebouwcomplex dat in gebruik is als verpleeghuis. De linkervleugel van het gebouwencomplex is overblijfsel van het kasteel van de heren van Boxmeer, in de dertiende eeuw gesticht, in de zeventiende eeuw enige malen verbouwd, grotendeels herbouwd in 1782 op last van Maria Johanna van Hohenzollern, tenslotte in 1806 voor ongeveer de helft afgebroken. Met een stompe hoek aan elkaar aansluitend een vermoedelijk zeventiende eeuws gedeelte, met leien zadeldak, en een hoekpaviljoen uit 1782, met mansardedak, waarnaast een ingangspartij met bordes en zich convex uitbreidende trappenvleugels, bekroond door dakkapel met fronton en voluten. Afwisseling van witgepleisterde baksteen en natuurstenen versieringen in de vorm van festoenen boven de vensters. Ingang met gesneden bovenlicht en daarboven in reliëf van borstbeeld in profiel. Smeedijzeren vensterbalustrades met in ovale medaillons eveneens borstbeelden van mannen en vrouwen in profiel (in de verdieping) en bladornamenten (beganegronds). Inwendig in het oudste gedeelte een stucplafond door Hanning uit 1686, in het hoekpaviljoen een mooi trappenhuis met gesneden balustrade, waarin weer portretmedaillons, en enige kamers met stucwerk en betimmeringen, alles in Lodewijk XVI stijl. Gracht aan de voorzijde bewaard; rechthoekige omwalling met rondelen op de hoeken in beperkte mate nog in het terrein herkenbaar.

Description
Former Castle, now forming part of a building complex in use as a nursing home. The left wing of the building complex is a remnant of the castle of the lords of Boxmeer, founded in the thirteenth century, rebuilt several times in the seventeenth century, largely reconstructed in 1782 by order of Maria Johanna van Hohenzollern, finally demolished for approximately half its extent in 1806. Meeting at a blunt angle is a presumed seventeenth-century section, with slate gabled roof, and a corner pavilion from 1782, with mansard roof, beside which is an entrance section with flight of steps and convexly extending staircase wings, crowned by a roof dormer with pediment and volutes. Alternation of whitewashed brickwork and natural stone ornaments in the form of festoons above the windows. Entrance with carved fanlight and above it in relief a portrait bust in profile. Wrought-iron window balustrades with portrait busts of men and women in profile in oval medallions (on the upper storeys) and leaf ornaments (on the ground floor). Inside the oldest section a stucco ceiling by Hanning from 1686, in the corner pavilion a fine staircase with carved balustrade, containing again portrait medallions, and some rooms with stucco work and wainscoting, all in Louis XVI style. Moat on the front preserved; rectangular fortification with bastions on the corners still partially recognisable in the grounds.
