The Department's description
Exterior description and setting
A development of two-storey terraces laid out in parallel blocks, with flat or monopitch roofs, along with a group of semi-detached houses in similar style, all in rustic brick with concrete surrounds to windows and doors. Windows are rectangular timber fixed lights with top-hung vents, varying from white painted originals to stained replacements of different pattern; some later arched windows also introduced.
SETTING: The estate is pleasantly landscaped with lawns and some mature trees.
Historical information
Built for the Admiralty to the designs of T.F.O. Rippingham; drawings dated May 1944; approved February 1945.
