Exterior description and setting
Site now marked by children’s playground. In the 1969 Survey it was described as a single-storey slated and whitened house with lean-to porch and lean-to extension at side.
Historical information
Shown on the 1834 OS map. Was the miller’s house to a large flour mill to its immediate south which stopped work in 1882 and was destroyed by fire in 1898.
This building was recorded on the HMBB survey card of 1969 as 'Single storey + attic - slated roof - whitened stone walls. Small lean-to porch with side doorway (recent door). Casement window in gable which has overhung verge. 2 casement windows in side - lean-to at side. Frontage about 22 feet. Condition poorish.' Also - 'visit 1981 - derelict.'
This house was demolished since HMBB survey of Nov 1969.
