Exterior description and setting
Third house from right end in a terrace of six similar three storey/ two bay late 19thC houses facing the sea on NW side of street.
Pitched natural slate roof with brick chimney to right end. Moulded overhanging eaves course carries half-round plastic gutters on advanced eaves.
Front wall is rendered and painted. Continuous moulded cill courses to the upper floors. Left bay is narrower than the right one and contains the main entrance in a semi-elliptical headed opening. Modern six-panelled door has glazed sidelights (with aprons). Consoles carry a timber entablature under a plain fanlight. Directly above is a modern top-hung timber window to each upper floor. That to second floor is slightly diminished in height.
The right bay has a canted bay window rising full height, with canted natural slate roof tied into main roof and sharing common eaves. Each face of the bay window has a modern top-hung timber window. Those to each side are narrower than that to front and those to second floor are slightly diminished in height.
A rendered dwarf wall and hedge enclose front garden. Modern front gate.
Left gable is party wall with No.15 Seaview (HB16/12/017C).
Right gable is party wall with No.17 Seaview (HB16/12/017E).
Rear elevation was not inspected.
Historical information
First appears in the Valuation revision book entry form 1878, along with No.15. This was the middle pair in this terrace of six houses to be built, the first pair (Nos 17 and 18) being erected in 1877 and the last (Nos 13 and 14) in 1880.

Evaluation
Although this terrace house has been altered, its scale and proportion are in keeping with the rest of the buildings along the sea front. However, its late date and modernisation mean that it is not of special architectural or historic interest.
