The Department's description
Exterior description and setting
Left one of a pair of two and a half storey/ two bay houses set back in a longer terrace.
Pitched artificial slate roof with a large central wall head dormer (with modern wavy timber bargeboards) tied into front pitch. Two modern skylights also to front pitch. Red brick chimney to left gable. Modern plastic rainwater goods.
Walls are rendered and painted. Four panelled timber door at front right, with a plainly glazed semicircular fanlight over. All windows are modern stained timber casements with thin concrete cills. There is one to ground floor left and two to first floor. Dormers contain a pair of round-headed windows
Front garden is enclosed by a rendered and painted dwarf wall carrying modern wrought metal railings and matching gate. This boundary is flush with street line of the remaining terrace.
Left and right gables form party walls with the adjacent properties.
Rear elevation not inspected.
Historical information
Although a house is on this site prior to 1834, the present one (and its pair) was not erected until 1883, first appearing in the Valuation book of this date.
