Exterior description and setting
A dressed granite post on south verge of road. Measures c.30 x 20 cm in cross section; 40 cm protrudes above ground. Rounded corners to top. Side facing to road is finely dressed and inscribed PBW in 5cm high capital letters. May have been moved slightly. Superseded by modern concrete posts to west.
Historical information
One of a number of stones marking the course of the Portadown and Banbridge Waterworks pipeline from Foffany Dam, opened in 1909. See also HB 16/07/048, 0/61, and /062 for identical stones. Shown on 1919 OS 6” map.
