The Department's description
Exterior description and setting
Of random rubble granite fieldstones. Measures c 4.1m in diameter by c.3.7m high, with c.2.0m diameter pot. Draw hole faces south, with plug-and-feature horizontal lintel over and angled instepped corbels to actual hole. No ramp in evidence. In good condition.
Historical information
Depicted on 1859 OS 6" map, but not on 1834 edition, indicating a mid-19th century construction date. Long disused.
