No building is shown on the 1834 map and only a small one is on the 1857 map. By 1907 it had assumed it present form. It is valued at £1.10s.0d in the 1862 Valuation and was probably erected around 1860.
First survey card describes the building as a “one and two storey thatched cottage with outhouses. One stucco chimney in each part. Thatch continued to skews, which are timber at left hand gable. Stone corbel at two-storey gable suggests original roof height then raised when roof was slated. Walls whitewashed with tarred plinth. Windows mix of plain and small pane double-hung sash. Sheeted door in curved windbreak porch which is thatched over. Stone cills, dressed st two storey section. Which has sheeted door at extreme right. Half-round gutter.”
