The Department's description
Exterior description and setting
A segmental span carries a one-and-a-half land road over a small river. Of squared limestone rubble, with dressed faces and laid to courses. Finely dressed voussoirs. The abutments are footed in concrete. The parapet is coped with large roughly-dressed sandstone blocks.
Historical information
A bridge is shown here on the 1834 OS 6" map. It is explicitly captioned 'Starraghan Bridge' on the 1857 and appears to be multi-arched. The present single-arched structure may therefore be a later 19th century rebuild of the original structure. The abutments are footed in concrete.
