Historical information
The 1833 OS map shows the lake to have a different outline and although the bridge appears to be there, it is difficult to say with certainty. The river is recorded as ‘Stevenson’s River’. The bridge is shown on the 1854 OS map on ‘Glen Burn’ and on subsequent maps. No Abercorn estate letters were found pertaining to this bridge.
It is not known when this bridge was demolished.
