The Department's description

The building stands in a detached position within the built-up area of the town, set back slightly from the pavement behind its original low stone boundary wall and railings, and surrounded by modern security fencing. It is flanked to the left by two-storey terrace houses and to the right by a detached former cottage hospital now converted to offices.
